It’s Better in the Bahamas

October 8, 2015

It’s official: We’re Bahamas bound!

Right now the plan is to sail south in November with the goal of making it to the Bahamas sometime in January. Of course, the timing isn’t great in a lot of ways, one being that the poor Bahamas have just been pummeled by Joaquin. Not to mention that we’re nowhere near ready to go yet (but we’re working on it, furiously, updates to come!). There is also the outstanding matter of giving notice at the job I just started a month ago. (If you happen to know where I work, please keep this under your hat for the time being!) This last part has been weighing on me a lot, especially because I really like the job and my coworkers are amazing. But we have to seize this opportunity while we can, so we’re taking a couple of deep breaths and forging ahead with our plans.

Wish us luck! And let us know if you want to meet up in the Bahamas this winter.

Oh, Monica! How exciting, and what an amazing life you seem to be leading (just spent an hour reading up on your blog). You look so beautiful and happy and I wished I could have come on your Spanish trip! When I was a kid we spent two summers in a little town on the edge of Asturias and the Basque country called San Vicente de la Barquera, so your Ribadesella bit made me very nostalgic. Am still at the UN, v busy just now (Spain is president of the Security Council this month!). And am a grandma of a divine nearly four-year-old little girl who is a piece of work. All of us well and happy, and Michael and I got married a year ago!! Keep up the blog, you’re a natural. Xxxxxxx

Oh, Tamara, you’re gonna make me cry. Thank you for the support. Congrats on the nuptials and grandmotherhood! So cool that you’re still at the UN. Talk about an amazing life! Super happy for you. Come visit us in the Bahamas!
